VERGE MID-ATLANTIC CYCLOCROSS SERIES ANNOUNCES SCHEDULE AND SPONSORS

September 7, 2005; Conshohocken, Pennsylvania, USA: Following a stellar 2004 campaign that saw top-level racing amongst National Champions of cyclocross, mountain biking and road racing and racers from the USA and Canada and England, the Verge Mid-Atlantic Cyclocross Series kicks off its 2005 campaign on October 9 in scenic Bucks County, Pennsylvania. The eight-race program features six UCI - sanctioned races, two of which are ranked UCI C1, and also includes two double-header UCI weekends. With courses laid out on farms, horse show grounds, municipal parks and even a private estate, the Verge Mid-Atlantic Cyclocross Series serves up the most diverse collection of events possible.

Every race uses the "Pro Double-Header" format where the amatuer classes (Master/Jr., Men C & B, Women B) take to the track in their own races first to roughen up the course for the separate races for Elite Women and Elite Men. The Verge Mid-Atlantic Cyclocross Series is professionally promoted with full Public Address systems, music, knowlegeable announcers, experienced course designers, superb organization and the unique atmosphere that can only be provided by the MAC Brotherhood.

The 2005 series is sponsored by Verge Sport. Verge Sport manufactures top-of-the-line cycling apparel for the U.S. market using unique European craftsmanship and design. Verge Sport offers brilliantly designed, pro-quality clothing made from the best fabrics available; and the professional service and attention that every customer values. Their extensive collection of cycling gear can be viewed at www.vergesport.com, or you can call 800-536-0160 for a color catalog.

Honey Stinger is the Official Energy Food of the 2005 Verge Mid-Atlantic Cycling Series. Honey Stinger is a natural energy gel made from a combination of Pure Honey, Pure Water, Salt, Potassium Citrate and Vitamin B Complex (Niacin, Pantothenic Acid, B1, B2, B6, B12). Honey Stinger uses honey as the main source of carbohydrates, as opposed to man made carbohydrates commonly found in other energy gels. Studies show that honey is low on the glycemic index and therefore provides a long, steady source of energy instead of a spike and crash. Honey is also a natural source of antioxidants.
