12-Year Old Cycling Sensation

PR WEB.com :: Fond du Lac, WI (PRWEB) December 3, 2005 -- Capping a very successful 2005 race season, 12-year-old cyclist Thomson Remo has won the 2005 overall junior class of the Mid-America Time Trial Series of 13 time trial races held in Illinois and Wisconsin and sanctioned by American Bicycle Racing.Thomson also earned 2005 American Bicycle Racing Wisconsin/Illinois Junior Male Rider of the Year from a field of 50 junior male racers ages 19 and under.

After 6 years as a BMX racer, where he earned expert ranking and 6th in the ABA BMX world competition, Thomson began competing in road races and time trials during 2004. In addition, Thomson now races velodrome, mountain bike and cyclocross.

He is sponsored by Griffen Bikes and races road and time trials for the Baraboo Sharks racing team and track and cyclocross for Nova/ISCorp team. He is a member of the Redline Triathlon Club headquartered in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin.

Thomson is also overall track winner of the 2005 15-16 junior class at Kenosha Velodrome and 13 and under 2005 Junior overall winner for the Wisport Citizens Road Race series in Wisconsin. He is currently ranked 2nd in Wisconsin for 2005 USCF 13-14 Junior road racing, time trials and criterium. As a mountain biker, he won his age group and King of the Hill in the 2005 YMCA Xterra in Plymouth, Wisconsin and the 13-14 Citizen class at the NORBA sanctioned 2005 WORS Kewaunee XC Adventure race.

He will be competing in the National Championship Cyclocross races in Providence, RI in December, 2005.

††Thomson attends FACES middle school in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin where he is a straight A student as well as a band member and track and basketball team member.
